Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, directed by Anil Sharma and released in 2001, featured Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel. Gadar 2 marked the entire team's reunion. Now, Ameesha has already stated her desire to star in Gadar 3, the third installment in the Gadar trilogy. Having said that, she was subject to a condition before signing Gadar 3.

Ameesha Patel's desire to star in Gadar 3

Ameesha hosted a #AskMeAnything session on X (formerly Twitter) on June 22. The user posed a question to the actor regarding her screen time in Gadar 3. She said that she will accept the role in the future film if she is "super happy" with the screenplay. 

Ameesha Patel went on to say that Gadar 2 was fantastic, and the screenplay faithfully adapted the original material. This should always be the first concern when making a film. If an actor prioritises the film's requirements over their own, they won't be considered worthy.

She continued by writing that everyone's love for her character Sakina means the world to her, and she adores her too. However, she will only accept an offer for Gadar 3 if she is as completely satisfied with the script as she was with Gadar 1.

A separate tweet from Ameesha addressed a question about whether or not she would appear in Gadar 3. She highlighted the close relationship she had with Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma by calling him "family."

The actor wrote on her X page that their creative differences are for the betterment of the film, but their respect and fondness for each other go way deeper than all this. So yes, if they agree, they will enjoy Gadar 3.

Gadar series - A legacy of success

Released in 2001, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha became one of the all-time blockbuster films in Bollywood. Interestingly, the sequel, Gadar 2, which hit the big screen in 2023, turned out to be among the highest-grossing films of the year, raking in the same success as the first installment. Both films are currently streaming on ZEE5 (also on OTTplay Premium).
