Amaran is upcoming Tamil film starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role. The film is an action drama, directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, with Kamal Haasan producing it.

Release date

Amaran is scheduled to hit theatres for the occasion of Diwali. The film will release on October 31, and will be sharing the box office along with Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran and Kavin-starrer Bloody Beggar.

Trailer

The trailer of Amaran is yet to be released by the makers. But the teaser has been unveiled earlier, and we see Sivakarthikeyan undergo a massive transformation physically to look fit for the role. Another teaser introducing Sai Pallavi as Indhu Rebecca Varghese was also released.

Cast

Amaran is headlined by actor Sivakarthikeyan, and will be the actor’s first biopic in his career. While the actor will be playing late Mukund Varadajan, actor Sai Pallavi will be playing the female lead as Indu Rebecca Varghese, the wife of Mukund. Apart from them, Amaran also stars Bhuvan Arora, Rahul Bose, and Rohman Shawl, among others.

Crew

Amaran is written and directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy. The technical crew consists of cinematography by Ch Sai, with R Kalaivanan as the editor. GV Prakash Kumar is scoring the music for the film. The film is backed by Kamal Haasan under Raaj Kamal Films International, Raaj Kamal Films and Sony Pictures Films India.

Plot

Amaran is official biopic based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, who was the commissioned officer in the Indian Army`s Rajput Regiment. He was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra for his bravery and anti-terrorism work while he was deputed to the 44th Rashtriya Rifles battalion in Jammu and Kashmir. The film is expected to also throw light on the selfless love his wife Indhu had for him.

Censor and Runtime

The makers have not yet announced the censor and runtime of the film.

OTT rights

Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical rights of Amaran. The film is expected to premiere on the platform once the theatrical run of the film gets completed. An OTT release date is yet to be announced.
