Yash Raj Films (YRF) has finally announced the first female-led entry in its highly successful espionage universe franchise. Shiv Rawail is helming the film Alpha, which stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh in the lead roles. A montage video has made the announcement, featuring Alia discussing how Alphas will rule the world, accompanied by background music referring to them as "Alpha Girls."

The actor says, "Greek alphabet ka sabse pehla akshar. Aur humare program ka motto: sabse pehle, sabse tezz, sabs veer. Dhyaan se dekho toh har sheher mein ek jungle hai. Aur jungle mein hamesha Raj karega.. ALPHA!" which loosely translates as "the first letter of the Greek alphabet. And the motto of our program: First, fastest, and bravest. If you look carefully, every city has a jungle. And in the jungle, always reigning supreme... ALPHA!"

Aditya Chopra's vision for Alpha

Produced by Aditya Chopra, Alpha is the first YRF Spy Universe film to feature a female lead. In the spyverse, they play opposite each other as super-agents, and Aditya Chopra seems to be portraying them as the pack leaders.

Here, YRF makes it clear that they want to draw attention to the widespread misconception that only men can hold the alpha position.

Upcoming films in the YRF Spy Universe

Aditya Chopra is going all out to convert the first YRF Spy Universe film starring a female lead into an action extravaganza. The most popular IP in Indian cinema right now is the YRF spy universe, which Aditya Chopra created. With the exception of Tiger 3, every film in the spyverse—Tiger Zinda Hai, Ek Tha Tiger, War, and Pathaan—has been a huge success.

Alpha, starring Alia and Sharvari, is Aditya Chopra's next big offering. Chopra is also producing War 2, which stars Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr. Pathaan 2 and Tiger vs. Pathaan are the upcoming installments in this legendary blockbuster universe.

The action-packed series has always included male protagonists with strong female characters, but this title signifies a major change. Producer, YRF chair, and MD Aditya Chopra created the spy universe's Tiger series, which began with Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), and War (2019), starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. The films starred Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Both Pathaan and Tiger 3, which starred John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, and Shah Rukh Khan, were huge successes in India in 2023.
