Ticket price hike
Some of the credit for this situation may be attributed to the unprecedented increase in ticket prices. Allu Arjun expressed his gratitude to the Andhra Pradesh government for sanctioning the ticket price hike for the film, referring to it as a "progressive decision."
On Monday evening, Arjun shared a message on his X account regarding this matter. "I sincerely thank the Government of Andhra Pradesh for endorsing the ticket increase. This progressive decision reflects your unwavering dedication to the advancement and success of the Telugu film industry," the message stated.
The 42-year-old actor, who is poised to reprise his role as the laborer-turned-sandalwood smuggler Pushpa Raj in the sequel to the 2021 Telugu hit Pushpa: The Rise also expressed his appreciation to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan of Andhra Pradesh. This announcement follows the rise in ticket prices for his film "Pushpa 2: The Rule," which is scheduled for theatrical release on December 5, making it the highest-priced Telugu film to date.
Tickets for the premiere screening of Pushpa 2 on December 4 are set at ₹944 (including GST) at select theatres.
As per a memo released by the Andhra Pradesh government, six screenings of the film will take place on its opening day, December 5. The memo further indicated that ticket prices for the "lower class" will increase by ₹100 (including GST), while "higher class" tickets will rise by up to ₹150 (including GST), and multiplex tickets will see an increase of up to ₹200 (including GST) based on existing rates. Audiences can purchase tickets for five shows at the same price from December 6 to December 17.
