Malayalam cinema enthusiasts hold high expectations for Alappuzha Gymkhana, featuring the talented actor Naslen K Gafoor and directed by Khalid Rahman, known for his work on several successful films, including Tovino Thomas’ Thallumaala. The film also stars Ganapathi S. Poduval and Lukman Avaran in significant roles. The promotional posters showcasing the lead cast in boxing attire have generated considerable interest among viewers. Recently, Lukman Avaran, who plays a pivotal role in Alappuzha Gymkhana, confirmed that the film is a comedy entertainer and shared details about his character.

In discussing Alappuzha Gymkhana during the launch of his upcoming project Athibheekara Kaamukan, Lukman Avaran stated, "This is not an action film. It is a comedy film. However, there will be action elements present." He also mentioned that he will portray a coach in Athibheekara Kaamukan, which is anticipated to be released on April 10, 2025. Notably, Mammootty’s Bazooka is also set to premiere on the same date as part of the Vishu celebrations.

The cast and crew of Athibheekara Kaamukan includes not only Naslen, Ganapathi, and Lukman Avaran but also Sandeep Pradeep, Anagha Ravi, and Franco Francis. The screenplay is penned by Khalid, with music composed by Vishnu Vijay, who is recognized for his work on the popular tracks of Thallumaala and Premalu. The cinematography for Athibheekara Kaamukan is handled by Jimshi Khalid.

This film marks Khalid's next project following the success of Thallumaala, which starred Tovino Thomas. Lukman Avaran also appeared in Thallumaala, which gained acclaim for its stylish musical sequences. Kalyani Priyadarshan played the female lead alongside Tovino in the film, which is currently available for streaming on Netflix.

Conversely, Naslen featured in the film Premalu last year, which established him as a rising star. The movie directed by Girish AD, which also includes Mamitha Baiju in the cast, is currently available for streaming on JioHotstar. Additionally, Naslen appeared in Girish AD’s I Am Kathalan in 2024; however, this film did not achieve the same level of success as Premalu.
