Hera Pheri is regarded as one of the most iconic comedy films in cinematic history. Featuring Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty in prominent roles, this comedic adventure premiered on March 31, 2000. As the film approaches its 25th anniversary, producer Firoz A Nadiadwallah has addressed the possibility of a theatrical re-release. This comes at a time when numerous Hindi films are being brought back to the big screen. Should Hera Pheri return, it would undoubtedly delight fans of cinema.

Firoz A Nadiadwallah on Hera Pheri re-release

In a discussion with Bollywood Hungama, Firoz A Nadiadwallah emphasized that the decision regarding the re-release of Hera Pheri will not be made solely by him. He remarked, "While I am the official owner of the film, Akshay ji, Paresh ji, and Suniel ji share equal ownership in spirit (smiles). Therefore, we will make this decision collectively."

Nadiadwallah expressed confidence that Hera Pheri would perform well at the box office upon its re-release. He noted that Phir Hera Pheri will also celebrate its 19th anniversary in 2025. However, he clarified that the team has not actively sought to maintain the film's popularity; rather, it has remained relevant naturally over time.

The producer acknowledged the contributions of writer Neeraj Vora in sustaining the film's appeal throughout the years. "The film's enduring charm is largely due to the innocence and clever dialogues crafted by Neeraj ji. We learned from him that while the content of what you say is significant, the manner in which you convey it holds even greater importance. Neeraj imparted this crucial lesson to us and the film industry," he remarked.

Priyadarshan to direct Hera Pheri 3

In a related development, the creators have officially announced Hera Pheri 3, nearly two decades after the release of Phir Hera Pheri. The third installment will be helmed by director Priyadarshan, with Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty reprising their roles. Additionally, Gulshan Grover will also join the cast of this comedic venture.
