Akshay Kumar previously commented on the speculation during the film's trailer launch. He stated, 'Indeed, I employed that term. However, it is intriguing that you observed this, while the expression 'you are still a slave' did not seem to be regarded as a significant affront? In my opinion, there is no greater insult than that. I would have preferred if you had highlighted the use of the term 'slave' instead of concentrating on 'f**k you.'

In Chapter 2 of Kesari, Akshay Kumar portrays the character of lawyer C. Sankaran Nair, who stands against the British Empire, while R. Madhavan plays the British lawyer Neville McKinley. Additionally, Ananya Panday takes on the role of lawyer Dilreet Gill, who supports Nair. The cast also includes Regina Cassandra as Sankaran Nair's spouse, along with Simon Paisley Day, Alexx O'Nell, and Steven Hartley. The film is produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Aruna Bhatia, Adar Poonawalla, Anand Tiwari, and Amritpal Singh Bindra.
