Kalki 2898 AD has turned out to be a monster of a film at the box office and has managed to surpass every expectation with flying colors. The movie has managed to re-establish Prabhas in the Pan-India circle after the dent made by Adipurush and partially healed by Salaar: Part 1. However, the success of Kalki Tsunami, while providing much validation to the makers and team of the film, has turned out to be a source of tension for the makers of other tentpole movies set to release around it. Indian 2 is much beyond these games, but we have recently seen Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha pushing its release date to August 2 from July 5. However, it seems like another massive star is clearing the way for the Kalki storm by taking off their planned release from the calendar. Rumors about Sarfira now talk of postponing the movie.

Sarfira To Get Postponed?

Yes, you read that right. Akshay Kumar’s Sarfira has been making subtle waves if not the trending ones, and the promotions have been mostly low-key. The makers are taking the help of the internet in a big way as they focus on the music album and other promotional material. The movie, which is a remake of Soorarai Pottru, stars Kumar in Suriya’s place and Radhika Madan as the female lead. Now, as the movie is set for a July 12 release, which is this coming Friday, a new rumor suggests that the movie may get pushed to another date. Read on to know everything you should about the same.

As per a new report, the makers of Sarfira may postpone the release of the movie. The reason is simple: the Kalki 2898 AD wave is very strong at the moment. The report quotes a source that explains how competing with Kalki and then being at loggerheads with Hindustani 2 is not a good idea. The source even talks about Akshay Kumar’s last couple of underperforming movies, which have made the makers take this decision.

A source close to the development told Times Now, "The producers have not yet taken a call to postpone Sarfira. But with Kalki being unstoppable and Kamal Haasan's Hindustani 2 locked in for July 12, plus Akshay Kumar's alarming low success ratio recently, Sarfira is likely to be postponed."

The Release Date Chaos

This means if Sarfira gets postponed, it will have to look for a comparatively safe zone, which right now is the first half of August, where Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha currently sits. Mid-August is where the big competition arises with Street 2 and Vedaa sitting on the August 15 release date right now. It will be interesting to see what date the makers of the Akshay Kumar starrer choose in case they decide to postpone the movie. Recently, the August 15 release date was vacated by both Singham Again and Pushpa: The Rule.
