It has turned out to be a day of massive announcements and shocking revelations, as we all woke up to Ajay Devgn announcing the new release date of Singham Again, which is Diwali 2024. This news was followed by another exciting announcement: Stree 2 got a new release date and will now hit the big screen on August 15, 2024. We've just finished half the day and already have the third massive announcement: the first look and release date of the Akshay Kumar starrer Sarfira. The movie is a remake of the Tamil film Soorarai Pottru that stars Suriya, who is also the co-producer on the Hindi remake with Kumar in the lead. This is the second film announcement by Akshay this week, and below is everything you need to know. 

Sarfira Release Date Out

Sarfira has been in the making for a while and has gone through a couple of shuffles. Akshay Kumar has been dropping updates about the movie for a long time, and fans have been curious to know when the film will hit the big screen. It turns out we finally have an answer, as Akshay has now shared the first look of Sarfira, and the release date is not even a month away. Sarfira releases in July 2024 and is written and directed by Sudha Kongara.

Sarfira will now be released in theatres on July 12, 2024, which is not even a month away. The first look has Akshay in uniform, looking at the sky, while his ungroomed beard gives him a rustic look that audiences have loved in past films like Airlift, Holiday, and more. The image he shared is captioned, “The story of a man who dared to dream big! And for me, this is a story, a character, a film, an opportunity of a lifetime! #Sarfira trailer out on 18th June. Catch Sarfira on 12th July, only in cinemas.”

Written by Sudha and Shalini Ushadevi, with dialogues by Pooja Tolani, the music is by GV Prakash Kumar. Sarfira is produced by Aruna Bhatia of Cape of Good Films, Suriya, Jyothika, and Vikram Malhotra (Abundantia Entertainment). The film is an official remake and follows the same track as the original, with Radhika Madan playing the lead opposite Akshay Kumar.

Akshay Kumar On A Roll Again

The Akshay Kumar theatrical run has begun again. The actor is set to release three movies on the big screen in the space of just five months. While he will be seen in Sarfira on July 12, he also has Khel Khel Mein released on August 15. These two will be followed by Singham Again on Diwali 2024, which is on November 1. The star has a bag full of films, and he is back to releasing them back-to-back on the big screen.
