Akshay Kumar and filmmaker Priyadarshan have joined forces once again decades later for their upcoming film, Bhooth Bangla, promising to recreate the magic of their previous collaborations. Adding to the excitement, the iconic trio — Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and Asrani are also on board now, reuniting the OG horror-comedy squad that captivated the audiences in the 2007 blockbuster film, Bhool Bhulaiyaa. OG team returns for Bhooth Bangla
Recently a source told Pinkvilla that Akshay Kumar, Priyadarshan, and Balaji Motion Pictures owner Ektaa Kapoor have signed actors Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and Asrani for Bhooth Bangla. “It’s the return of the team which has brought about a smile on the face of cinema-going audiences from across generations. Bhooth Bangla is a perfect script that warrants their reunion, as every character has a trait that would evoke laughter. The idea is to create a unique comic experience with undertones of horror in the backdrop”, the source revealed.
Akshay Kumar's role in Bhooth Bangla
According to the source, Kumar will be playing the quintessential hero role in Priyadarshan’s film once again, who gets entangled in a series of hilarious moments. Pinkvilla also revealed that the film will go on floors in the early months of 2025. “Akshay Kumar announced the film on his birthday because he was aware of the excitement of the fans for this reunion. He is confident that the script will do complete justice to the legacy of his collaboration with Priyan”, said the source.
The report also suggests that the makers are looking to cast 3 female actors to play key roles in the film.
