Akshay Kumar has a history of starring in films where he plays a police officer, with new projects emerging every few years. Following the success of Sooryavanshi (2021), it has been reported that he is set to take on another role in a vigilante cop action film produced by Siddharth Anand, directed by Milan Luthria. This collaboration marks a reunion after nearly 12 years since their last project, Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbaai Dobaara (2013).

Regarding Akshay Kumar's current projects, a source revealed to Mid Day that filming for Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan, commenced last week, with Kumar capturing the first mahurat shot. It is speculated that he will complete this horror comedy by March before transitioning to Luthria's upcoming film.
An insider shared that Luthria and writer Rajat Arora are in the process of refining the screenplay, and the project will officially commence once Kumar receives the final narration. In this drama-action film, he is expected to portray a character reminiscent of his role in Rowdy Rathore (2012), embodying a charismatic persona in a masala entertainer. The film will also address a social issue, which has captivated Kumar to the extent that he has reserved April and May for its production.
Location recce and preparations
Preparations for the film's location scouting will begin shortly after the screenplay is finalized, with one of the filming locations set to be in India, as per the insider's information.
After the success of his recent blockbusters, Pathaan (2023) and Fighter, Anand will be collaborating with Kumar for the first time.

In terms of his busy schedule, Kumar is engaged in multiple projects, including Sky Force, Shankara, Jolly LLB 3, Housefull 5, and Welcome to the Jungle, among others. Several of these films have already announced their release dates, indicating another hectic year ahead for the actor.
