At a recent press conference for the eagerly awaited film Kesari Chapter 2, Akshay Kumar addressed inquiries regarding his use of strong language in the movie's teaser. He confidently defended his choice, highlighting the historical significance and emotional depth of the story. "Yes, I did use that word. But the term he used for the British in the teaser, 'You are still a slave!'—isn't that a much harsher insult? I think nothing could be worse than that," Akshay stated, standing by his decision. He pointed out that being labeled a slave by the British was a much bigger affront than the word he chose. "I would have preferred if you focused on the term 'slave' instead of my saying f**k you," he remarked, emphasizing that his language was a reflection of the deep emotions connected to India's colonial history.

Akshay took a deeper look into the historical importance of the film's setting, which focuses on the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. He remarked, “In my opinion, even if we had shot back at that time, it would still be a minor reaction,” implying that any act of violence against the British for their oppression would have been insignificant compared to the suffering endured by Indians during that period. His comments highlighted the film's goal to capture the raw and genuine emotions surrounding that dark moment in history.

Kesari Chapter 2 is set against the backdrop of one of India's most heartbreaking events, the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, and features an intense courtroom battle between Akshay Kumar’s character, Nair, and R Madhavan, who portrays Neville McKinley, a lawyer representing the British Crown. The film's story unfolds with haunting imagery of the massacre, showcasing the destruction and its lasting effects on the Indian mindset. Slated for release on April 18, 2025, Kesari Chapter 2 aims to deliver a powerful cinematic journey, highlighting the bravery, sacrifice, and resilience of those who stood up against colonial rule.
