Supporters of Ajith Kumar assert that this situation underscores his status as the leading star, particularly in light of the number of small and medium-budget films scheduled for release during Pongal. However, they also express disappointment regarding the unexpected postponement of Vidaamuyarchi.

Vidaamuyarchi is an action thriller film starring Ajith Kumar and helmed by Magizh Thirumeni. The film is produced by Lyca Productions, who as per reports, are believed to be facing financial and copyright problems, which has led to the delay. However, no official reasons were given out.

Which Tamil films are releasing for Pongal?

Jayam Ravi and Nithya Menen will star in the romantic drama Kadhalikka Neramillai, alongside Shane Nigam's Tamil debut Madraskaaran, Mirchi Shiva's Sumo, Sibi Satyaraj's 10 Hours, Arun Vijay's Vanangaan (previously scheduled for Pongal), Aditi Shankar and Akash Murali's Nesipayya, and Tharunam, all set to premiere during the festive season. Kadhalikka Neramillai and Nesipayya are slated for release on January 14, while Madraskaaran and Vanangaan will debut on January 10.

Additionally, the Ram Charan-led Game Changer, directed by Shankar, is also scheduled for release on January 10. The film is anticipated to perform well across the Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi markets.
