With only one day remaining until the release of Ajith Kumar's Vidaamuyarchi, ticket sales for the action thriller have been exceptionally brisk. Scheduled to premiere in theatres on February 6, the film has already achieved pre-sales exceeding Rs 10 crore for its opening day.

Ajith Kumar, who last appeared in Thunivu (2023), is set to release his new film after a two-year hiatus. Titled Vidaamuyarchi, the film has generated significant excitement among his fanbase and is poised for its theatrical debut on February 6, Thursday.

According to a report, nearly 600,000 tickets have been sold to date, resulting in a pre-sales revenue of Rs 10.5 crore. This figure is anticipated to rise, given that there is still one day left before the release. The film will need to surpass this amount during its opening collection to achieve profitability. Vidaamuyarchi is also expected to experience strong ticket sales in neighbouring states such as Kerala, Karnataka, and Telangana. The report further indicated that advance bookings for the opening weekend, spanning February 6-9, have already reached Rs 21 crore.

Vidaamuyarchi screenings are set to commence as early as 6 am in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and select locations in Kerala. In contrast, the initial showtime in Tamil Nadu will be at 9 am, due to the state government's strict regulations regarding first-day-first-show timings.

Vidaamuyarchi is both written and directed by Magizh Thirumeni and features a cast that includes Trisha, Arjun, Regina Cassandra, Aarav, Nand ikhil Nair, among others. The film is produced by Lyca Productions and features a musical score by Anirudh Ravichander.

Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights for Vidaamuyarchi. Starring Ajith Kumar, this film will mark the first major Tamil release of the year. With a solo release, it is anticipated to attract significant interest from both audiences and fans during the weekend.
