Vidaamuyarchi box office collection day 4:Magizh Thirumeni's film Vidaamuyarchi, featuring Ajith Kumar and Trisha Krishnan, premiered in theaters on Thursday. As reported by Sacnilk, this remake of the 1997 American movie Breakdown garnered a net collection of ₹60.35 crore in India during its opening weekend.

The website indicates that Vidaamuyarchi generated a net revenue of ₹10.6 crore in India on Sunday, based on preliminary estimates, which raises its cumulative total to ₹60.35 crore net. The film debuted with a net collection of ₹26 crore in India on its opening day and subsequently earned ₹10.25 crore on Friday, reflecting a decline of 60.58%. However, on Saturday, it experienced a recovery with a 31.71% increase, accumulating ₹13.5 crore net in India. The film's occupancy rates were recorded at 37.04% in the morning, 54.73% in the afternoon, and 54.13% in the evening. Over the course of three days, Vidaamuyarchi amassed a total of ₹92 crore globally, including ₹32.30 crore from international markets.

Vidaamuyarchi narrates the tale of a man embarking on a rescue mission following the abduction of his wife by a notorious group in Azerbaijan. The production commenced in 2023 and concluded in 2024, prior to Ajith's engagement in his racing career. Although initially slated for release during Pongal, the film's debut was delayed. It garnered a range of responses from both critics and audiences.

According to a review by The Hindustan Times, “From the beginning, Vidaamuyarchi does not conform to the typical star-centric narrative. It lacks the dramatic flair commonly associated with commercial films featuring Ajith Kumar. Instead, it presents the story of an everyday man deeply in love with his wife, determined to rescue her.”
