Happy Birthday Basil Joseph! On the special day, Mollywood star Tovino Thomas unveiled the character poster of Basil from Tovino’s upcoming period drama Ajayante Randam Moshanam. Tovino also shared a BTS video of the actor.

Introducing the actor-director as KP Suresh, Tovino wrote, “Striking the perfect balance between intensity and humour, Basil Joseph as K.P Suresh delivers unforgettable moments alongside Ajayan played by Tovino Thomas in ARM. Here’s to the dynamic duo that brings the fun to the World of Chiyothikavu. Happy Birthday, Basil! (sic)”.

The new character poster features Basil Joseph with his hands on his hips and looking closely at something. He is seen sporting round-framed glasses, slicked-back hair, and wearing a muted-shade shirt, and appears to be playing a character from the 80s. Interestingly, the makers of the film had earlier released the posters of the lead actors from the film, which featured the characters donning costumes of the ancient period. It seems like the film takes place in two different timelines, with Basil's character probably making an appearance in the second timeline.

Tovino also shared a fun video clip of Basil rowing a boat, where the Falimy actor is seen crooning to the popular Malayalam song ‘Vennila Chandana Kinnam’. The video seems to have been taken by Tovino at one of the filming locations.

Ajayante Randam Moshanam to release this year

Directed by Jithin Laal, the Tovino Thomas-starrer Ajayante Randam Moshanam is set to hit the big screens this year. The makers are aiming for an Onam 2024 release, according to the reports. The team is currently working on the VFX, sound, and music of the film and will soon release other important updates about the project.

Besides Basil and Tovino, the upcoming period drama also features an ensemble star cast including Aishwarya Rajesh, Krithi Shetty, Surabhi Lakshmi, Jagadish, Aju Varghese, Rohini, Harish Uthaman, Nisthar Sait and Pramod Shetty among others. Jomon T John serves as the cinematographer for the film, while Dhibu Ninan Thomas has composed songs and the original score.
