Among all the movies at the Box Office currently, there is no doubt that Shaitaan is performing best even if it released long ago (at the beginning of the month). The movie has even crossed records set by Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone’s Fighter. Owing to its massive success, it looks like the makers are now planning to turn Shaitaan into a franchise. We hear that a sequel to the movie is already being planned and an official announcement on the same can happen soon.

What we hear

“Shaitan’s sequel will be announced in a few days,” a source told Hindustan Times, adding that director Vikas Bahl is happy with the response his film has received and thus, they have high expectations from the sequel too. The movie is likely to star the same cast as the original, i.e., Ajay Devgn, R. Madhavan, Jyothika and Janki Bodiwala.

More details about the sequel

Shaitaan 2 is likely to go on floors soon. The makers could make the announcement when the movies goes on floors or announce the sequel. Instead of exploring black magic with a new family, the makers are looking at exploring more aspects of black magic with the same family. Yes, this means that Ajay will play the father, Jyothika the mother, Janki Bodiwala the possessed daughter and Madhavan the tantrik once again.

“The story further will be based in Kokam, Maharashtra, which is popularly known as the black magic centre of the state. The narrative will develop around more complexities and energies of black magic,” the source added.

Janki Bodiwala’s reaction

The leading actress Janki (also a part of the original Gujarati film Vash) spoke about the speculation but only in hints. She did not confirm or deny the speculations but said that it is better to keep things under the wraps till the right moment.
