The first-ever film pairing of father-and-son actors Meezaan and Jaaved Jaaferi is in the works. According to reports, the actors will be sharing the screen space together for the first time De De Pyaar De 2.

Roles of Jaaved and Meezaan Jaaferi

A source told the Bombay Times that filming for De De Pyaar De 2, Ajay Devgn's next feature film, has already begun. Luv Ranjan produces the follow-up to Ajay Devgn's 2019 film, which co-starred Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh. The filmmaker has been quite secretive about the project, according to the source. Rumour has it that Jaaved will play the part of Meezaan's father, while Meezaan will play Rakul Preet Singh's new or former romantic interest, and they have started shooting for the film.  

After making his Bollywood debut in 2019's Malaal, Meezaan's most recent appearance was in 2003's Yaariyan 2.

R. Madhavan's pivotal role

In De De Pyaar De 2, R. Madhavan also plays a pivotal role. It is still unclear whether Tabu will appear in the sequel. The source says the makers want it to be surprising. An insider adds that she might make a cameo appearance.

Earlier, while sharing her excitement about being a part of De De Pyaar De 2, Rakul told ETimes that there's twice as much masala and twice as much dhamaka. She can't wait to reprise her role as Ayesha. Along with her co-star Ajay Devgn, producer Luv Ranjan Sir, and director Anshul Sharma, this is one of her favourite teams to work with. It feels as satisfying as coming home to her. Just because her adventure in Hindi cinema began with De De Pyaar De 2, it brought her that affection after working in Telugu films, and she is very enthusiastic for Part 2.

Madhavan as Rakul's father

According to Hindustan Times, in the sequel, Madhavan will portray Rakul's dad. According to a source who spoke to the leading daily, the film depicts Rakul dating a man who is older than her father, thereby establishing a humorous rivalry between Ajay and Madhavan. Now that Madhavan is playing the part, the plot fits well with the story.

Ayesha and Aashish were the protagonists of the romantic comedy De De Pyaar De. Seeing how Ayesha's relatives respond to her connection with an older man is the main emphasis of Part 2. The film is now shooting in Mumbai under the direction of Anshul Sharma, and both Ajay and Rakul are returning to their respective roles.
