Malayalam latest film, Thalavan, is all set for its digital debut on Sony LIV from September 12, putting an end to film enthusiasts anticipation. The investigative thriller, starring Asif Ali and Biju Menon in lead roles, is directed by Jis Joy. The director is well-known among Malayalis for his light-hearted and feel-good movies like Sunday Holiday and Vijay Superum Pournamiyum. However, with the thriller Innale Vare, which came out before Thalavan, he recently took a different approach in his filmmaking career.

The main character of the movie, Adhi Shankar, is a bankrupt actor who has had a number of box office failures. To exacerbate his situation, two tech-savvy strangers kidnap him and seize control of his phone, using his voicemails and social media. The primary mystery of the movie revolves around whether the two strangers are too cunning to be caught or whether Adhi will manage to get away from them and bring them to justice. 

With this suspenseful film, Jis Joy eschews his signature feel-good aspects. Nimisha Sajayan and Asif Ali deliver outstanding performances, and the screenplay is brilliant as well as straightforward, with enough intriguing moments. It is a perfect watch if you are in the mood for a decently twisted thriller.

Cast and crew of Innale Vare

Asif Ali, Antony Varghese, Nimisha Sajayan, and Reba Monica John are among the main ensemble cast members in the movie. The film is written by Bobby-Sanjay, who wrote critically praised films including Traffic, Ayaalum Njaanum Thammil, and Mumbai Police.

Asif marks his first direct-to-OTT release with Innale Vare. The movie is also the fourth project that the director and Manorathangal star have worked on together. The two have previously collaborated on films such as Sunday Holiday, Bicycle Thieves, and Vijay Superum Pournamiyum.
