Aghathiyaa, the recently released Tamil film of 2025 featuring actor Jiiva in the lead role, is preparing for its debut on OTT platforms. This fantasy horror adventure is directed by lyricist Pa Vijay, marking his third venture as a director. The film will be available for streaming on SunNXT starting March 28.

Aghathiyaa OTT release date: Where and when to watch Jiiva’s latest film

Having premiered on February 28, Aghathiyaa is a Tamil fantasy horror action thriller helmed by Pa. Vijay. Jiiva plays a dual role alongside co-stars Arjun Sarja and Raashii Khanna. The plot centers around a young art director and his fiancée who transform a film set they constructed into a haunted house for business purposes, only to discover that the location is haunted by lingering secrets and spirits.

The production experienced delays following its initial announcement in 2020, largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other unexpected obstacles. However, in late March 2023, Vels Film International revitalized the project, culminating in its release this year. Following its theatrical run, the film will be accessible on SunNXT and OTTplay Premium starting March 28.

The film's score is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Upon its release, Aghathiyaa garnered mixed reviews. The cast also includes Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Reddin Kingsley, among others. It is produced by Dr. Ishari K Ganesh and Aneesh Arjun Dev. The technical team features Dipak Kumar Padhy as the cinematographer, with San Lokesh handling the editing, and P. Shanmugan serving as the art director. In addition to directing, Pa Vijay contributed as the lyricist.

This week, the Tamil OTT landscape will witness several new releases. In addition to Aghathiyaa, viewers can catch the premiere of the web series Seruppugal Jaakirathai on OTTplay Premium and ZEE5, featuring Singampuli. Another web series, Om Kali Jai Kali, starring Vemal, will launch on JioHotstar.
