We previously announced that the streaming rights for Aghathiyaa, following its theatrical release, have been acquired by SunNXT. The film has now premiered on the platform, and with an OTTplay Premium subscription, you can view it immediately.
Aghathiyaa marks the directorial debut of lyricist Pa Vijay and is a horror fantasy drama featuring Jiiva in the leading role. He portrays dual characters alongside Arjun Sarja and Raashii Khanna. The story revolves around a young art director and his fiancée who transform a film set they constructed into a haunted house for business purposes. However, the location is already steeped in hidden secrets and spirits, which emerge as they begin to reside within the palace.
Vels Film International has taken the lead in producing the film, with music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The cast features actors Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Reddin Kingsley, among others. The production is overseen by Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh and Aneesh Arjun Dev. The technical team for Aghathiyaa includes cinematographer Dipak Kumar Padhy and editor San Lokesh, while P. Shanmugan serves as the art director. In addition to directing, Pa Vijay has contributed as the lyricist for the film. Upon its release, Aghathiyaa received mixed reviews; however, its visually rich content makes it appealing for children who can enjoy its graphic elements.

This week, Tamil cinema will witness several releases on streaming platforms. In addition to Aghathiyaa, two web series are set to premiere on Friday. The first, Seruppugal Jaakirathai, will be available on OTTplay Premium and ZEE5, featuring Singampuli in a comedy action role. The second web series, Om Kali Jai Kali, starring Vemal, will launch on JioHotstar.
