Sourav Chakrabirty’s Rajneeti dropped on Hoichoi last year and it created quite a buzz with its gripping storyline and presentation. Now, the second season, Abar Rajneeti, is all set to be released. The trailer was dropped recently. Amid the ongoing buzz of the General Election, the trailer promises a glimpse of political rivalry and greed of the pulpit.

Abar Rajneeti features Ditipriya Roy, Arjun Chakrabarty, Kaushik Ganguly, Koneenica Banerjee, and others. The first season delves into the conflicts within seasoned politician Rathin Banerjee’s family. Rathin, played by Kaushik Ganguly, dies in the first season while his wife (Koneenica) and daughter (Ditipriya) fight for his political position in Rijpur.

Kaushik is coming back as Rathin's twin brother, Pratim Banerjee. OTTplay reported that Kaushik Ganguly will be back in the season, along with Madhurima Basak. Pratim comes to Rijpur after 20 years dressed as a monk. After the by-election is announced, political tension increases in the area. Mallika (Konineeca), wife of Rathin and the leader of Lokmanya Sewak Dal wants to keep the seat to herself at any cost.

However, Mallika Banerjee is scared of Rathin's daughter Rashi, played by Ditipriya. She is married to Sounak, son of Sougata who is the investor of the party. Mallika hints at creating tension between Rashi and Pratim. Old relationships and money market scams will be unveiled with Pratim's return.

Life taught Rashi that there is no eternal truth in politics. The story will revolve around trust and betrayal, an uneven fight between the deserving and the powerful, the confession of a criminal, and guilt.

Sourav arranged the story based on power play, revenge, and betrayal. The director said, “A very popular saying about politics goes like this – In the king’s reign, wars are fought and the pawn’s lives are lost... But often, in the king's reign, it’s the king’s life that is lost in war. The politics behind making a king, the intrigues, and its history aren't short of bloodshed... Even though many aspire to be a king, the throne is just one... So, like the known political scenario of India, in our kingdom of stories, every moment the dynamics of political and personal relationships change... Who is a friend, and who is an enemy? And whose hand will hold the reins of the throne of Rijpur, that's what the story of 'Abar Rajneeti' will unfold.”
