Actor-filmmaker Arjun Sarja, who is currently in the news as the story writer of the Kannada film Martin, starring his nephew Dhruva Sarja, has announced his return to direction. The film, which has been titled Seetha Payanam, will be a home production for Arjun, who has not revealed any other details with regard to the cast and crew or as to when it will go on grounds. For now, besides the title, all that Arjun has announced is that Seetha Payanam is a trilingual, with versions in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu.

Niranjan Sudhindra paired with Aishwarya Arjun in Seetha Payanam

Social media posts state that Seetha Payanam will be an emotional voyage that will tug at the heartstrings of audiences. According to the buzz on social media, Arjun has Niranjan Sudhindra, the nephew of Real Star Upendra in the film, which the young actor confirmed moments ago. He is paired with Arjun’s daughter Aishwarya.

A source tells us that Seetha Payanam has already been completed and that the team will begin promotions shortly, with Arjun making relevant announcements in good time. Niranjan and Aishwarya have an age difference, which, the source says, will be justified in the movie, making their pairing not a typical romantic entanglement. The film, though, is a romantic drama, with some comedy and action thrown in as well.

Arjun’s last directorial was the Kannada-Tamil bilingual Prema Baraha, which had Aishwarya in the lead along with Chandan. The duo played journalists from rival news organizations in the films. He has also written and directed films like Jai Hind and its sequel, Madrasi, Parasuram, Vedham, Ezhumalai, Prathap, among others.

Martin, the film that Arjun wrote the story for, is currently in theatres and has been panned widely. The team has been launching copyright strikes on all negative video reviews. While they had a success meet recently, sources suggest that the film is still far from breaking even, given that the budget got inflated over the three years of Martin’s making.
