Action Gone Wild on Dhamaal 4: Ajay vs Arshad – What Really Happened?
16 days ago | 5 Views
The action in Dhamaal 4 took a perilous turn when a sequence initially intended to be created using visual effects was instead performed as a live stunt by the actors. Arshad Warsi, in particular, expressed significant apprehension regarding the action scene and nearly had a confrontation with his co-star Ajay Devgn and director Indra Kumar over the decision to have the actors perform the stunt themselves. This was particularly concerning for Arshad, as the stunt posed a considerable risk to his safety.
Transition from VFX to live action
What was originally designed as a visual effects sequence became hazardous, especially for Arshad Warsi. The action in Dhamaal 4 was meant to rely entirely on VFX due to the inherent dangers of the filming location. However, just days before production began, Indra Kumar and Ajay Devgn opted for a more authentic approach, deciding that the actors should perform the action on-site to enhance the scene's realism. This decision raised the most alarm for Arshad Warsi.
What was Arshad Warsi's concern and how was it resolved?
Arshad Warsi expressed his apprehension regarding the action sequence that involved hanging from a cliff at Malshej Ghat. His concern was heightened by the fact that he was required to hang at the farthest point. Given that this pivotal comic scene necessitated dialogue delivery, the use of body doubles was not an option, which further troubled Arshad.
In response to these concerns, Ajay Devgn took the initiative to ensure safety measures were in place, as reported by Mid-Day. He engaged in discussions with his fellow actors Arshad, Riteish Deshmukh, and Jaaved Jafferi, meticulously reviewing the scene step-by-step to mitigate potential risks. Ajay emphasized the importance of implementing safety precautions, including the use of harnesses and the presence of an emergency medical team on set. Once all the actors, including Arshad, felt assured about the safety of the scene, filming was completed within four days.
Sanjay Dutt, Aashish Chaudhary out after original Dhamaal

Dhamaal is regarded as one of the most cherished films in Bollywood. Over the years, it evolved into a franchise, undergoing various transformations. The cast members who remain involved in Dhamaal 4 include Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jafferi, and Riteish Deshmukh. Ajay may be seen as a substitute for Sanjay Dutt in the upcoming installment, which aims to capture the essence of the original film more closely.
