Sitaare Zameen Par's possible release date and the reasons behind the hold-up

Aamir Khan is aiming to drop Sitaare Zameen Par this Christmas. He mentioned it during the Republic Day festivities at the Statue of Unity in Gujarat. Earlier, PeepingMoon reported that the film, which was initially set for a 2024 release, got pushed back due to some unfinished post-production tasks. An insider revealed that Aamir had specific goals for the project that required extra time. So now, he's looking at a Christmas 2025 release for what will mark his return to acting.

Sitaare Zameen Par is the spiritual follow-up to Taare Zameen Par

Aamir Khan referred to Sitaare Zameen Par as a 'spiritual sequel' to Taare Zameen Par, sharing that the climax was filmed in Vadodara, Gujarat. This new film is the Indian version of the Spanish movie Campeones (2018).

Darsheel Zafary, the child actor from Taare Zameen Par, is back for this one. Plus, Genelia Deshmukh is joining the cast, and it's directed by RS Prasanna, known for Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.

Aamir Khan was seen in Forrest Gump's Hindi adaptation Laal Singh Chaddha last. The movie released on Christmas in 2022. Now, the actor is busy working on Lahore 1947 alongside Sitaare Zameen Par. The film is being helmed by Raj Kumar Santoshi and features Sunny Deol in the lead role.
