However, has recently been confirmed that these claims are unfounded, and developments related to the biopic are indeed moving forward.

Update on Ilaiyaraaja biopic

Film industry insiders informed that a significant Tamil production company has collaborated with Connekkt Media for the film's production. According to sources, "Renowned producers AGS Entertainment have teamed up with Connekkt Media to create the Ilaiyaraaja biopic. The script is finalized, and the project is currently in the pre-production phase."

The sources refused to divulge more details as to when the movie would start production but it would likely be after Dhanush completes the two films he is working on currently.

In 2024, AGS Entertainment achieved significant success with Thalapathy Vijay’s film The GOAT, directed by Venkat Prabhu, which grossed over ₹450 crore at the global box office. The production company is now preparing for the release of its Hindi film Loveyapa on February 7, a remake of the successful 2022 film Love Today. Loveyapa features Junaid Khan, the son of Aamir Khan, alongside Khushi Kapoor, the daughter of late actress Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor. Additionally, AGS is in the process of producing Dragon, directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, with actor-director Pradeep Ranganathan at the helm.
