Rosamund Pike’s experience portraying Marie Colvin
Back in 2019, the Gone Girl-fame Rosamund Pike shared a lot of things about the movie A Private War, along with her experience in portraying the famous journalist, Marie Colvin, and doing a biopic. Pike spilled the beans to GQ magazine that she had to learn how to smoke like a chimney. The English actress explained that Marie Colvin had carried much tension on her shoulders and was always ready for attack. Hence, it was quite an experience portraying her role for Pike.
“Colvin got through cigarettes in a way only those working so close to death can. I used to wrap my arms in gaffer tape above the elbow to learn how to get her tense, angular movements. She carried so much tension around her shoulders. Marie was always hunched over, ready for attack. I have permanently shortened my own neck by almost two centimetres, rather shockingly”, Rosamund told GQ magazine.
