Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 Part 2 is set to premiere on MX Player on February 27. The trailer for this highly anticipated crime thriller series has already generated considerable excitement among viewers. Directed and produced by the acclaimed National Award-winning filmmaker Prakash Jha, the series featuring Bobby Deol explores themes of power, betrayal, and revenge. In anticipation of the release, Prakash Jha discussed the decision to cast actress Aaditi Pohankar in the role of 'Pammi' within the series.
Prakash Jha on casting Aaditi Pohankar in Aashram
Prakash Jha nearly excluded Aaditi Pohankar from the cast of Aashram. Indeed, this revelation was made by the director himself during a recent interview with ANI. He expressed his initial uncertainty regarding Aaditi's suitability for the role of Pammi, particularly because the character required a more muscular physique.
The director stated, "Regarding Aaditi's casting, I had my doubts. I recognized some potential in her, but I was uncertain about her ability to fulfil the role. On the first day of filming, we encountered an issue; she appeared too slender for the part of a wrestler. However, she assured me that she would work on gaining weight for the role. After a month, Aaditi returned to inform me that she had only gained 750 grams. I then warned her that if she did not make significant progress in her weight gain, I would have to consider replacing her and hold auditions again."
Jha continued, "Slowly slowly, she increased her weight. The hunch I had regarding her in the audition came true and she did marvellous after the shoot started."
Prakash Jha on casting Bobby Deol
Jha consistently placed his trust in Bobby Deol for the role of Baba Nirala in Aashram. The filmmaker remarked, "I have always had faith in Bobby. He is an exceptional actor." For this particular character, Jha sought a face that would resonate with audiences, which is why he chose Bobby. "Kudos to him. He dedicated significant effort to embodying the character," he concluded.
Bobby Deol and Aaditi Pohankar will return to their roles in the series, which also includes notable performances by Darshan Kumaar, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Vikram Kochhar, Tridha Choudhury, Anupriya Goenka, Rajeev Siddhartha, and Esha Gupta in significant roles.
Additionally, the second part of Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 is set to premiere on MX Player on February 27.
