Kaashmora is a 2016 Tamil horror fantasy drama, written and directed by filmmaker Gokul. The film features Karthi in dual roles and has Nayanthara and Sri Divya play the female leads. Kaashmora marked the first time Nayanthara and Karthi collaborated. The film was released for Diwali on October 28, 2016, in theatres. Kaashmora is about a thief who gets trapped inside a haunted mansion along with his group. Only if the group obeys the commands of the spirits inside the mansion, can they leave safely. The film also stars Vivek, Madhusudhan Rao, Madhumitha, and others. Kaashmora is backed by SR Prabhu and SR Prakashbabu under the Dream Warrior Pictures banner. While Santhosh Narayanan scored the music, VJ Sabu Joesph edited the film. Om Prakash had shot Kaashmora. The film opened to mixed reviews upon its release.
Karthi’s upcoming line-up
Karthi was last seen in Meiyazhagan alongside Arvind Swamy. The film is currently streaming on Netflix. Meiyazhagan is directed by Prem Kumar and is about two men who are related to each other and meet during a wedding, as they follow up with many conversations during one night.
The actor has several projects lined up. Next, he has Va Vaathiyare with director Nalan Kumarasamy and Karthi 29 with director Tamizh of Tanakkaran fame. Karthi is also working with PS Mithran for Sardar 2, which is currently under production. Karthi is also set to reunite with Lokesh Kanagaraj for the Kaithi sequel. A release date for all these projects is yet to be announced.
