Starring Sharmila Tagore and Manoj Bajpayee in the lead, the movie garnered critical acclaim for its stellar performances and well-crafted narrative. Today, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced the 70th National Film Awards in all major categories to celebrate cinema and artistic craft. From the South film industry to Bollywood, multiple movies have grabbed coveted honours and are winning accolades from across the country.

Gulmohar wins big at National Awards

On Friday, the government of India acknowledged the creative talents of the entertainment industry. Gulmohar, which marked the return of Sharmila Tagore after a hiatus of 13 years, proves its mettle as a well-directed film as it wins big at the 70th National Film Awards. The family drama has bagged the award for Best Hindi Film. Lead actor Manoj Bajpayee has also received a Special Mention for the same. Apart from these two honors, Gulmohar shines in another category as it also grabs the Best Dialogue Writer Award - Arpita Mukherjee and Rahul V Chittela.

Meanwhile, South cinema is also celebrating major wins in multiple categories. Karthikeya 2 bags the title of Best Telugu Film and Ponniyin Selvan 1 in the Tamil Best Film.
