As the legendary film Shakti (1982) completes 42 years of its release, Anil Kapoor took to Instagram to share his heartfelt memories and gratitude for being a part of the timeless classic. In an emotional post, the veteran actor recalled the pivotal moments that shaped his early career and paid tribute to his colleagues, including iconic figures of Indian cinema such as Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, and Smita Patil.

Early days of Anil Kapoor's film career

Kapoor wrote, fondly remembering the beginning of his journey in the film industry—42 years of Shakti—a movie that made him feel things he will never forget. Without Javed Akhtar's recommendation, he never would have gotten the opportunity to work with such legendary actors as Kumar and Bachchan; therefore, he is really grateful to him.

The actor went on to share personal anecdotes from the time of filming, including his experience of staying in a remote hotel, far from the set, which made him feel "nervous and isolated." However, it was Patil's kindness that stood out for him. The late actor let him stay in her room, she treated him like family and requested he relocate closer to the set, demonstrating her tremendous kindness. To Kapoor, her generosity was the deciding factor.

Anil Kapoor's confidence as a newcomer in the film industry

Despite being a newcomer in the industry at the time, Kapoor had unwavering confidence in taking on the role. Even though he was a complete unknown, the actor mustered the courage to accept Shakti's offer and work with some of Indian cinema's most illustrious stars. It never occurred to him back then that this movie would end up being a masterpiece for all time.

Kapoor ended his post by reflecting on the lasting impact Shakti has had on his career and the memories he holds close to his heart. From his anxious first scene with Kumar to Ramesh Sippy's confidence him me to play the roles of Bachchan's son and late actor's grandson, he is incredibly grateful for this journey. Forever will these memories remain imprinted on Kapoor's heart.
