Three decades have passed since the release of Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, a film that millions of people will never forget for a variety of reasons. Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit Nene play the lead roles in the 1994 musical love drama that Sooraj Barjatya directed and Rajshri Productions produced. Today marks the 30th anniversary of the release of the film, which is a story about giving up one's love for one's family. They also celebrate Indian wedding traditions by telling the story of a married couple and their family's relationship.

Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! plot

Nisha (Madhuri Dixit), who is the sister-in-law of Prem's (Salman Khan) older brother Rajesh (Mohnish Bahl), catches his eye. Pooja (Renuka Shahane), Rajesh's wife, was going to break the news to the family when she tragically passed away in an unexpected accident. Everyone in Nisha's family, including Prem's, wants her to now marry Rajesh. Will Nisha agree? And how will the development of her romance with Prem contribute to the overall plot?

The Hindi book Kohbar Ki Shart by Keshav Prasad Mishra served as the inspiration for Rajshri Productions' 1982 film Nadiya Ke Paar, which in turn adapted the story. Raamlaxman, who also wrote a soundtrack consisting of fourteen songs—a very high quantity for that era—contributes musically to the film.
