25 years have passed since we saw Salman Khan turning into a friendly ghost in Hello Brother. Written and directed by Sohail Khan, it is an action-packed romantic fantasy film from 1999. Along with Rani Mukerji and Shakti Kapoor, it also features Salman and Arbaaz Khan, Khan's actual elder brothers. The 1992 Malayalam film Aayushkalam, itself an adaptation of the 1990 Hollywood films Ghost and Heart Condition, inspired the remake of Hello Brother.

Plot overview of Hello Brother

In the film, a cop finds himself spiritually led to try to foil a narcotics ring that poses as a local messenger service after receiving a heart transplant. Rani (Rani Mukerji) isn't in love with Hero (Salman Khan), but he is. Hero is a devoted employee at A-Z, the courier service that the villain Khanna (Shakti Kapoor) runs. The city's drug ring implicates Hero, prompting Inspector Vishal (Arbaaz Khan), a tough cop, to pursue him. However, the naive Hero is completely blameless. Even after he discovers the truth, Khanna removes him from his position. He successfully shoots Vishal in the chest during the process. Following a successful heart transplant, Vishal receives Hero's heart. Only Vishal is able to see the hero's ghost when he returns to seek revenge for his death. Since Hero's heart beats for her, Vishal naturally falls in love with Rani. Thankfully, she also develops romantic feelings for him.

Earlier, while talking about Hello Brother, Rani shared that she considers Sohail a close friend because of their time together at work. He has her full support, both as a person and as a filmmaker. Unlike most directors, Sohail has a wonderfully pleasant and collected demeanour. Being a director carries significant responsibility, akin to being the captain of a ship. Sohail, on the other hand, is unbelievably chill and easygoing, with an impeccable demeanour.

Rani Mukerji's views on Salman Khan

Regarding Salman khan, Rani stated that he excels in his element, and there has been no discussion about his fame. Not only is he towering above everyone, but he is also incredibly kind and helpful.

While discussing why Hello Brother flopped at the box office, Rani stated that when word got out that the film bombed, nobody could believe it. After 24 years, everyone probably realises they should have killed Arbaaz instead of Salman in the film.
