Mujhse Shaadi Karogi plot summary

The majority of Mujhse Shaadi Karogi takes place in Goa and follows the adventures of two male protagonists, Khan and Kumar, as they pursue a female lead, Chopra. Khan's character, Sameer, is a feisty young man who relocates to Goa, where he encounters and develops feelings for Chopra's character, Rani. However, Sunny, his new flatmate (Kumar), starts acting like a mere cog, pulling a few tricks. Very quickly, Rani develops feelings for both Sameer and Sunny. Who is she going to pick?

Dhawan wanted to reinvent himself, so he made a film that looked and felt different from his typical mass-market comedies—a romantic comedy. Anees Bazmee and Rumi Jaffery, who have worked with Dhawan for a long time, wrote the screenplay. Despite the film's setting in Goa, filming did not take place there. On the contrary, Sharmishta Roy built two elaborate sets in Film City and Mauritius, where major shoots took place. On top of that, Mauritius served as the setting for numerous scenes and songs.

Critical reception and box office success

Reviews for the 2004 film Mujhse Shaadi Karogi were mostly positive, praising the script, actors, score, cinematography, art direction, costumes, and styling. On July 30, the film saw its release on the big screen. The film, which grossed Rs. 565 million, was the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of the year.
