Sehar plot summary
It follows the tumultuous life of Ajay Kumar (portrayed by Arshad Warsi), a 31-year-old special superintendent of police of Lucknow, who is vital in uniting a team of dedicated law enforcement professionals under the Special Task Force's auspices. The film partially depicts the encounter of Shri Prakash Shukla, who met his death at the hands of the Uttar Pradesh Police's newly formed Special Task Force.
The film begins with an interview with Professor Tiwari, who discusses police interactions and efforts to combat organised crime in Lucknow and other regions. The film then introduces Ajay Kumar, whose father, an army officer, committed suicide due to accusations of desertion, leaving his wife, Prabha, to raise him alone. This tragedy has affected Ajay emotionally since he was a small boy. Ajay puts in the time and effort necessary to join the Indian Police Service, and he eventually becomes the Senior Superintendent of Police of Lucknow after a successful academic career. His honesty has led to fourteen transfers in eight years to various locations in India. He reconciles with Gajraj Singh (Sushant Singh), a new criminal lord and merciless killer, at his new position in Uttar Pradesh. His mother decides to arrange for their marriage as he develops romantic feelings for Anamika Kant (Mahima Chaudhry), a childhood friend of his.
Ajay devises a plan to deal with Gajraj by forming a special task force. However, Gajraj's extensive political connections also pose challenges for Ajay. Using increasingly sophisticated methods, such as cell phones, Gajraj manages to evade the Task Force. However, with Prof. Tiwari's (Pankaj Kapur) assistance, the Task Force gets back on its feet and is able to spy on Gajraj's call logs. They fear that if no police officer, regardless of position, dares to apprehend Gajraj or even consider him a suspect, the Task Force will become ineffective. As the train pulls away from Hazrat Nizamuddin station, they lock eyes for the last time. During the altercation, every single officer in the Task Force and every single member of Gajraj's gang meet their demise. The sole survivor is Professor Tiwari.
