Almost a decade after it first took the box office by storm, the creators of Baahubali have revealed plans to re-release the film on the big screen. SS Rajamouli’s monumental work will once again illuminate theatres, offering fans a chance to witness the grand narrative as it was designed to be viewed — larger than life.

The producer of the film, Shobu Yarlagadda, took to Instagram and, sharing a poster depicting Kattappa (Sathyaraj) slaying Baahubali (Prabhas), declared the magnificent re-release of the film to commemorate “10 years of epicness. ” He expressed, “And on this special day, I am excited to let you all know that we are organizing an Indian and international re-release of @BaahubaliMovie in October this year. It won’t merely be a re-release; it will be a year of celebration for our cherished fans! Anticipate nostalgia, new revelations, and a few grand surprises along the journey. Stay tuned! #ReliveTheEpic! #BaahubaliReturns. ”

The specific release date in October has not yet been confirmed. Nevertheless, just the announcement has excited fans. One comment stated: “10 years already! ” Another user expressed: “Wow, bestest! ” A third remarked: “When I came across this post, I was actually rewatching Baahubali 2 on Netflix and recalling the exhilarating experience I had watching Baahubali in the theater. Best wishes for the re-release, sir. 

About Baahubali

The monumental period action film was collaboratively written and directed by S. S. Rajamouli, and produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni under Arka Media Works. Starring Prabhas in a dual role alongside Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, and Nassar, the film garnered ₹650 crore globally at the box office, becoming a blockbuster.

The follow-up, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, was an even greater blockbuster, setting records at the box office by earning ₹1788. 06 crore globally and ₹1030. 42 crore domestically. The film narrates the tale of Sivudu, a brave young man who sets out on a quest to assist his beloved, Avantika, in rescuing Devasena—the former queen of Mahishmati—who has been held captive under the tyrannical rule of King Bhallaladeva. The epic saga culminates in Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which premiered in 2017.
