Appudo Ippudo Eppudo Story

After facing love failure with Tara(Rukmini Vasanth), Rishi(Nikhil Siddhartha) lands in London to make it big in the motor field. A few years later, Tara also reaches London and rekindles her love for Rishi. She decides to surprise him with a proposal and right when she is about to do that, Rishi's ex girlfriend, Tulasi(Divyansha Kaushik) comes back from nowhere and spoils Tara's plan. If this was not enough, a dreaded gang chases Tulasi and kidnaps Tara in return. The rest of the story is as to how Rishi comes out of this mess and saves Tara's life.

Appudo Ippudo Eppudo Review

Appudo Ippudo Eppudo is the third time that director Sudheer Varma and Nikhil Siddhartha have teamed up together after Swamy Ra Ra and Keshava. But this time, they falter big time with Appudo Ippudo Eppudo as the film is outdated and looks dull from the word go. The story of the film is quite simple and is about a young chap, who tries to romance two beauties and lands in major trouble.

In all Sudheer Varma films, he highlights the crime comedy angle in a big way but here in Appudo Ippudo Eppudo, things fall flat in no time. There is no seriousness in the film whatsoever and a very bright talent like Rukmini Vasanth looks out of focus most of the time. The first half of the film has a weak romantic episode featuring Nikhil and Rukmini. Be it the comedy or the romance, nothing works during this time.

90% of the film is shot in London and such a backdrop is wasted through a silly crime comedy. For any crime comedy to click, the main villain needs to be good. But here in Appudo Ippudo Eppudo, John Vijay plays the part and he is terrible in it. Whenever he comes on screen, it leaves audience in distress. There are a few twists that are executed properly at the end but by then, Appudo Ippudo Eppudo loses its steam.

Sudheer Varma does not make use of any single aspect and keeps the proceedings dull and outdate. As the film was shot four years ago, it anyways looks old, and Sudheer Varma's narration further spoils it. Coming to the performances, Nikhil gives a dedicated performance. Despite the role and story does not have much for him to do, he gives his best in his character.

Rukmini Vasanth makes her Telugu debut and she is lost in translation. There is nothing much she can do to save the film with her talent. Divyansha Kaushik is one of the lead characters and she has done quite well. Her role has negative traits and she pulls it of with ease. Ajay is good as the side kick of the main villain. But it is John Vijay who is miscast as the villain.

The production values of the film are top notch and the camera work capturing the city of London is top notch. The BGM by Karthik is good but his songs were disappoiting. The dialogues are okay but the screenplay is a huge mess as it does not engage you one bit.

Nikhil and his teamed did not promote the film much as they knew the status of the film beforehand. Appudo Ippudo Eppudo is one such film that has nothing going its way and the actor working in it are clusless and sleepwalk in their roles.

Appudo Ippudo Eppudo Verdict

On the whole, Appudo Ippudo Eppudo is an outdated crime drama that lacks basic thrill. Right from the actors to the narration, everything is dull, boring, and silly. Stay away from this one.
