On April 17, the creators officially revealed the release date for the anticipated Netflix series, accompanied by a stunning poster.

The Royals OTT release details

Netflix India unveiled an official poster for The Royals, showcasing Bhumi Pednekar and Ishaan Khatter on their Instagram page. The image depicts the actors embracing against a regal backdrop.

Along with the poster and the announcement of the release date, the creators wrote, "A stubborn prince encounters a girlboss commoner. Is it a royal chaos or a majestic love story? Tune in to The Royals, premiering on May 9, exclusively on Netflix."

The Royals cast

The Royals marks Bhumi's web series debut. Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana's new romantic comedy series also features the veteran actress Zeenat Aman. Apart from them, Milind Soman, Nora Fatehi, Dino Morea, Chunky Panday, Vihaan Samat, Kavya Trehan, Sumukhi Suresh, Udit Arora, Lisa Mishra, and Luke Kenny will be seen in pivotal roles.

Creators Rangita Pritish Nandy and Ishita Pritish Nandy revealed that their series, The Royals, presents a romance that intertwines the timeless allure of palatial settings and Indian nobility with contemporary glass-walled boardrooms, illustrating a love that is far from straightforward.

They further elaborated, "The narrative centers on two individuals hailing from entirely different backgrounds, each grappling with their own challenges. They are often in conflict, yet they find themselves irresistibly attracted to one another in unexpected ways—much like how one tends to pursue the troublesome partner rather than the ideal one—that encapsulates the essence of The Royals."

In addition, The Royals delves into the romantic relationship between a CEO (Bhumi Pednekar) and an heir (Ishaan Khatter), set against a backdrop of royal heritage and ambition.
