Shauna Gautam presents a narrative where the affluent intersects with the less fortunate—but with Bollywood’s shifting interpretation of the ‘poor.’ Although Nadaaniyaan possessed the elements for an engaging romance, it ultimately does not resonate.” A third viewer remarked, “Nadaaniyan is so poorly executed that it’s astonishing; how can a film be this dreadful? The film features Ibrahim in the role of Arjun Mehta, an aspiring young man with ambitions of studying law and obtaining a respectable job. Khushi portrays Pia Jai Singh, a young woman who values love above her career aspirations. Their relationship develops in an unconventional manner, as Pia compensates Arjun with ₹25,000 weekly to pose as her boyfriend. As time progresses, their connection becomes increasingly complex, filled with drama, passion, and unforeseen emotions.
