Sookshmadarshini, the upcoming Malayalam film directed by newcomer MC Jithin, is gearing up to hit the theatres soon. Nazriya Nazim Fahadh and Basil Joseph are playing the lead roles in the highly anticipated project, which is touted to be a dark comedy-thriller. After a long wait, the makers dropped the much-awaited Sookshmadarshini trailer on social media, today (November 16, 2024). From the promising trailer, it is safe to assume that the Nazriya-Basil starrer is not just a fun ride.

Sookshmadarshini trailer review

The 2.38-minute-long trailer of Sookshmadarshini begins with the visual of protagonist Priyadarshini (Nazriya Nazim Fahadh), who is seen expressing her excitement over having a new neighbour. Priya is not an ideal hardworking woman but has her little secrets. While others consider Manuel (Basil Joseph), her new neighbour, a lovable young man, his presence raises Priya’s curiosity. She is seen constantly spying on Manuel’s moves, which leads her to find out many dark secrets that lie behind his innocent demeanour.

The best aspect of the Sookshmadarshini trailer is that it hasn’t revealed much about the film’s plot and the nature of its protagonists, Priyadarshini and Manuel. Both Nazriya Nazim Fahadh and Basil Joseph’s presence in the trailer promises that the duo is here to stun the audience with their character arcs and performances in the film. The well-picturized and edited trailer, and its effective background score hint that Sookshmadarshini is not just a fun film, but has much more to offer.

Along with Nazriya Nazim and Basil Joseph, Sookshmadarshini features a promising star cast including Sidharth Bharathan, Deepak Parambol, Merin Philp, Akhila Bhargavan, Kottayam Ramesh, Merin Philip, Pooja Mohanraj, Manohari Joy, Gopan Mangat, and others. Sharan Velayudhan is the director of photography. Christo Xavier is composing the songs and the original score. Chaman Chakko handles the editing. Sookshmadarshini is produced by Sameer Thahir, Shyju Khalid, and A V Anoop under the banners of Happy Hours Entertainments and AVA Productions.
