Maharaja, the 50th outing of actor Vijay Sethupathi, hit the theatres on Friday (June 14). While the film has already garnered much anticipation, Maharaja has been getting love from many across the industries. Various known celebrities who caught a special show of the film appreciated the film and gave a thumbs up.

Various celebrities to watched the film heaped praise on Vijay Sethupathi's Maharaja. The film is written and directed by Nithilan Saminathan and is a revenge action drama.

Actor Keerthy Suresh who put out a long post to show her love for the film, said, "Just coming hot hot out of the film #Maharaja!! What a brilliant screenplay this is, You are the star of the show. It’s a pride to add this gem to Tamil Cinema! This film was the perfect way to mark your 50th @VJSethuOfficial sir, it’s a treat to watch you, as always!" The actor further appreciated the acting of the other cast members."

Director Madonne Ashwin, in whose Maaveeran, Vijay Sethupathi played a voice character, said that the film is a “testament to Nithilan’s storytelling finesse”. He further advised not to “miss this gem in theatres”. Producer Aditi Ravindranath called the film outstanding and said, "@VijaySethuOffl sir Can’t imagine a better 50th film ! What a performance sir." She also congratulated Nithilan and said that the film will be spoken for long time.

In Maharaja, Vijay Sethupathi plays the titular character, a barber. The film also stars Bharathiraja, Abhirami, Mamta Mohandas, Singampuli, Aruldoss, Munishkanth, Vinoth Sagar, Boys Manikandan, Kalki, and Sachana Namidass.
