On the eve of the release of Viduthalai: Part 2, Vetrimaaran described it as a "demanding and comprehensive undertaking" and disclosed that approximately eight minutes of footage has been cut from the film. The initial runtime was two hours and 52 minutes.

Viduthalai: Part 1 is currently available for streaming at no cost on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. ZEE5 has also acquired the streaming rights for the second installment. The Viduthalai duology is produced by Elred Kumar’s RS Infotainment, with a background score composed by Ilaiyaraaja.

The film features a cast that includes Kishore, Ken Karunas, Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajiv Menon, Anurag Kashyap, Ilavarasu, Balaji Sakthivel, among others.
