Kanguva trailer review
The 2.37-minute-long Kanguva trailer confirms that Tamil cinema audiences are in for a never-seen-before cinematic experience with director Siva’s dream project. The trailer begins with the introduction of a tribe that lived in the forests of Tamil Nadu at a medieval age, and some foreigners, who arrived there as a part of a mission. Then, the audience is introduced to the character played by Bobby Deol, the cruel leader of the tribe who has a partial visual impairment. He is seen destroying the smaller tribes and looting them along with his people.
Meanwhile, someone demands Kanguva to come there before he finishes counting to ten. Later, the titular character played by Suriya is introduced, as a highly powerful and ruthless warrior. Kanguva is destined to lead his tribe and fight against all odds. Despite his extremely tough exterior and ruthless nature, the leading man possesses lots of love for his people. The final shot underlines this idea, by showcasing the mighty Kanguva with teary eyes.
Bobby Deol looks every bit of a menacing villain in his unrecognisable get-up and performance. The dubbing voice for the Bollywood actor suits him quite well. Suriya, the leading man, once again proves his unmatched versatility with his unique body language, expressions, and voice modulation. From the trailer, it is safe to assume that the Siva directorial will utilize Suriya’s capabilities as both an actor and an action hero, to the fullest. Notably, leading lady Disha Patani is not seen anywhere in the trailer.
The stunning production design by Milan, exceptional cinematography by Vetri Palanisamy, Anu Vardhan’s costumes, and Ranjith Ambady’s make-up together created the unique world of Kanguva. Devi Sri Prasad’s background score, glimpses of Supreme Sundar’s action choreography, and the effective trailer cuts suggest that Tamil cinema audiences are in for a never-seen-before visual treat, with the film.
