Kanguva has finally hit the screens today (November 14). The film, which is headlined by actor Suriya, has been in the making for long time and finally came to the witness of audience on Thursday. With the overseas audience, and early show catchers already done with watching the film, most of them have given mixed reviews, with some praises for the technical prowess in Kanguva. Kanguva marks Suriya return in the lead role after nearly two years. The film hit theatres on November 14 (Thusday), in both 2D and 3D versions. Written and directed by filmmaker Siva, the film features Disha Patani and Bobby Deol as the female lead and antagonist respectively.

With the film opening in theatres across India as early as 4 am, and even before in overseas screens, many have watched and reviewed the film on social media. While some praised the efforts of the team, the technical brilliance and putting together a visual masterpiece, the film seems to have some lopsidedness too, with some pointing out weak writing. Besides Suriya, Booby Deol and Disha Patani, the cast of Kanguva also includes actors Yogi Babu, Natarajan Subramaniam, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, and K. S. Ravikumar and others. Backed by Studio Green, Devi Sri Prasad has scored the music, with Vetri Palanisamy cranking the camera. Nishadh Yusuf has handled the edits.

Kanguva is a period fantasy film which revolves around the clash of various clans, one which worships fire. Suriya represents this clan, as we are shown him to be a valiant warrior. The makers had also teased that a sequel of the film is on cards, given the film is successful. The OTT rights of the film have been bagged by Prime Video.
