About Sunny Deol's Jaat
Last month, the trailer for Sunny Deol's forthcoming film, Jaat, was released, showcasing his character, 'JAAT', in a fierce confrontation with the antagonist, Randeep Hooda, who portrays Rana Tunga. With this film, Sunny aims to captivate the South Indian audience, having already made a significant impact in the North with his iconic 'dhaai kilo ka haath'.
In the trailer's closing moments, Sunny states, "The north has already witnessed the strength of this two-and-a-half-kilo arm. Now, the south will experience it," evoking nostalgia among fans as this memorable line originated from the film Damini, for which he received the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1993.
Directed by Gopichand Malineni and produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, this action-packed film is scheduled for release on April 10 and will be available in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.
In an interview with ANI, Randeep Hooda, who plays the role of the villain Rana Tunga, discussed the meaning behind the title 'Jaat' and its cultural significance.
Hooda explained, "In the film, Jaat represents more than just a community, an agent, or an individual; it embodies an emotion. The Jat community is celebrated for its patriotism, sense of justice, courage, truthfulness, compassion, intensity, and love. As a Jat myself, I initially wondered why I wasn't cast in a Jat role. However, I soon realized that Sunny Sir is portraying that character, and I am pleased to contribute to this film as Rana Tunga."
He concluded by stating, "Ultimately, the film honors the Jat community and its emotional essence, and I am thankful to be a part of it."
