Her Plot: The Manorama Max original film narrates the stories of five women, including Aami (Aishwarya Rajesh), Reshma (Remya Nambeesan), Shanta (Urvashi), Abhinaya (Lijomol Jose), and Ruchi (Parvathy Thiruvothu). Aami is actively searching for a job, while Reshma, a self-obsessed social media star, is struggling to say relevant. Shanta’s world revolves around her husband, until ‘Alexa’ comes to their life. Abhinaya is a headstrong woman who is well aware of her needs in a relationship. Ruchi, an ill-tempered professional, is waiting to move to the USA with her lover.

Her Review

This Manorama Max original film, which narrates the story of five women from different rungs of society, scores with its performances. Her, however, falters in parts, when it comes to its making and execution. Even though the character sketches are well flushed-out and relatable, the rushed staging of some stories make it hard to connect or empathise with the protagonists. The final segment, led by Parvathy Thiruvothu, seems stretched, and the twist in the climax doesn’t feel organic.

The story of Reshma, played by Remya Nambeesan, suffers the most with its extremely artificial staging. Even though it comes across as intentional at the beginning, the same dilutes the impact of the story, while the humour doesn’t land well. The ‘Alexa’ story, led by Urvashi and Prathap Pothen, stands out with its heartwarming narrative. Lijomol-led segment also has a touch of humour to it, and that works well in parts.

Urvashi, as always, outshines the rest of the star cast with her impeccable performance as the jealous Shanta. Parvathy Thiruvothu is at her usual best as Ruchi, but the role doesn’t provide her much scope to perform. Lijomol Jose scores as Abhinaya, while Aishwarya Rajesh is fine as Aami (the dubbing could’ve been better). Remya Nambeesan, however, comes across as a total misfit in the role of Reshma. Late actor Prathap Pothen, Rajesh Madhavan, Dr. Rony David, Sreeram Ramachandran, and others have done their parts well.

Her Verdict

Her narrates five simple yet powerful women’s stories that make an impact in parts. Watch this Manorama Max original film for the fine performances of Urvashi, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and Lijomol Jose.
