Ghudchadi story:

Ghudchadi is a romantic comedy starring Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Parth Samthaan, and Khushalii Kumar. The Binoy Gandhi directorial revolves around the lives of Chirag (Parth) and Devika (Khushalii), who fall in love and later decide to take their relationship to the next level. They are ready to discuss marriage with their families. But then, that's not the end of this story...

Ghudchadi review:

Movie buffs have seen several romantic comedies over the years, and all rom-coms have something unique to offer. Binoy Gandhi's Ghudchadi seems different as it comes with twists and turns. While the storyline of the JioCinema film may seem unique, Ghudchadi is filled with a few roadblocks.

The movie begins with an introduction to the three generations residing in Kalyani Niwas. Veteran actress Aruna Irani plays Kalyani, and Sanjay Dutt is seen as her son Veer, a retired army officer. Parth Samthaan, who makes his film debut with Ghudchadi, is Veer's son Chirag, who owns a garment start-up. Kalyani's only dream is to see her grandson's 'ghudchadi', and she is on a spree to find the perfect bride for him.

Chirag is hopeful that he will find a partner for himself. Interestingly, he meets Khushalii Kumar's Devika at a function and eventually falls in love with her. Another track of the movie sheds light on Veer reuniting with an old friend, Menka (Raveena Tandon). The major twist in Ghudchadi comes when Chirag decides to introduce Devika to his family and discuss their marriage.

The biggest drawback of Ghudchadi is the predictable storyline. While the first half of this web film may be a bit interesting, you know what's going to happen in the latter part. After a point, the efforts of the primary star cast seem to be in vain, as there is not much that Binoy's directorial project has left to offer.

Although the one big twist is still intriguing, the twists that follow later are forced. Numerous attempts have been made to make Ghudchadi's story interesting, but the romantic comedy falls flat. It is also because the whole family drama in this rom-com seems dated and straight out of a daily soap opera. We've already seen enough of such family dramas on television!

Having said that, the good part about Ghudchadi is its music and the picturesque locations where the songs have been shot. Dil Vasda and Rote Rote are soothing to the ears and have a good visual appeal. Apart from that, Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon put a good amount of effort into their characters to make this film watchable. As for Parth, his performance could've been 'ultimate', but it's just decent.

Ghudchadi final verdict:

Ghudchadi is a romantic comedy with a stereotypical family drama twist that doesn't have much to offer. You can rather explore other options that are available for streaming today.
