Gangnam B-Side finale episodes 7-8 review: Not even Ji Chang-wook can hide the mediocrity of his series

Story:
With Jennie committing suicide, Yong Gil seeks revenge from the industry he was once associated with. While trying to investigate the matter, Dong-woo also gets dragged into what is a business. Gangnam B-Side finale episodes explore the very industry and its dark side.
Review:
Gangnam B-Side does not begin from the very moment that Ji Chang-wook's Yong Gil-ho appears in front of the cars but the scene is eventually there. He tries but takes longer to exhibit power this time.
While Yong Gil was seen in a grey shade so far, he has turned an out-and-out villain as we head towards the finale. With that, we know that he has been pushed into being the bad guy.
Su-in (Ok Ja-yeon) continues to stay in limelight as the baddie with a soft heart. Psyche is back and he stays true to his name but rarely ever stands a chance in front of Yong Gil. Dong-woo (Jo Woo-jin) here runs on emotions. He is a better father than he is a detective and to be honest, that's not the best thing out there.
The series continues its predictable, mediocre storytelling with violence taking the limelight. The action is slower in this show but once it arrives, the stunts do appeal to an extent.
The real truth behind what goes on with the girls is revealed. This takes you back to the recent release Doubt, where the runaway kids were treated poorly.
The series turns complex and even though this concept worked in the past, it is not as appealing today. The flashback to Jennie and Yong Gil together, though, is precious. Everything else is a filler that does not hit hard.
Verdict:
Gangnam B-Side so far was about Yong Gil in action. In the finale, though, Chang-wook steps away from limelight. The focus shifts to the real antagonists who are nothing more than appearance. The fear was more evident on seeing Yong Gil so far, who is not even the real villain on the show. Thus, there’s almost nothing to look forward to in this series, except maybe Ji Chang-wook in the initial episodes.
