Vyjayanthi (Vijaya Shanthi) is a distinguished police officer who aspires for her son, Arjun (Kalyan Ram), to emulate her career. However, Arjun chooses a different path, emerging as a champion for the underprivileged while descending into the world of organized crime. The narrative shifts when a prominent officer, portrayed by Srikanth, confronts Arjun and implores him to surrender. Arjun, however, declines the offer, further alienating himself from his mother. The remainder of the story focuses on Arjun's quest to protect the vulnerable from societal injustices, challenging the very system in which his mother holds significant authority.

Arjun, the son of Vyjayanthi, is both written and directed by Pradeep Chilukuri, featuring the iconic Vijaya Shanthi, renowned for her role in Osey Ramulamma, in the leading role. The film presents a straightforward mother-son narrative set in contemporary society. What distinguishes this otherwise conventional premise is its unique treatment. The film opens strongly, effectively establishing the premise of a police officer mother who desires her son to abandon a life of crime.

However, after this initial setup, the storyline becomes predictable and fails to introduce any fresh elements. While the action sequences are engaging, the overall framework remains commercial and has been explored in numerous films previously. Nevertheless, the director reserves his finest work for the conclusion, delivering a commendable climax that is both well-crafted and meaningful.

To fully appreciate this, viewers must navigate the familiar storyline of a cop mother and her rebellious son. The emotional dynamic between them is handled adequately, providing several memorable moments, particularly as Kalyan Ram and Vijaya Shanthi excel in their performances, showcasing excellent chemistry. Their experience adds significant depth to the film.

One notable flaw, however, is the exaggerated dialogue. Crafted to appeal to the masses, these lines often miss the mark and can become tiresome. This is especially true for the dialogues assigned to Kalyan Ram's character, which tend to be excessively loud.

Jr NTR, known for his role in RRR, attended the pre-release event of the film and remarked that the final twenty minutes would be surprising. The filmmakers have significantly promoted this aspect; however, the scenes presented during this segment do not live up to the expectations set by the hype, as they have been seen in numerous previous films.

Regarding the performances, Vijaya Shanthi, renowned for her remarkable roles in movies like Swayamkrushi, delivers a commendable portrayal as a police officer caught between her responsibilities and a wayward son. Her performance in the climax is particularly noteworthy. Kalyan Ram appears in a more aggressive role in this film, and he makes a strong impression. His ability to convey emotion in certain scenes is unexpectedly powerful, showcasing his impressive acting skills and effectively carrying the film.

Saiee Manjrekar, who was last featured in Varun Tej's Ghani, looks stunning in her role, but unfortunately, her screen time is limited. Sohail Khan makes his debut in Telugu cinema and performs adequately, though there is a sense that his character could have been developed further. Babloo Prithviraj, known for his work in Animal, takes on a solid role as a police officer and excels in his supporting performance.

Ajaneesh Lokanath has created the music for the film, which can be described as average. Although he is recognized for his background score, it falls short of expectations and often comes across as excessively loud. The action sequences deserve special mention, as they have been executed in a visually appealing manner. The production quality and cinematography are commendable, contributing to a visually affluent experience.

The concept of Arjun S/o Vyjayanthi is straightforward. The creators developed a basic climax and constructed a narrative around it, despite being aware that the storyline is somewhat outdated. While the overall presentation is conventional, the action scenes and performances are satisfactory.
