Doctors Review

The medical drama kicks off at the Elizabeth Blackwell Medical Centre, where a dedicated team of doctors is on a mission to save critically ill patients. Among them is Dr. Ishaan Ahuja (Sharad Kelkar), one of India's top neurosurgeons. Enter Dr. Nitya Vasu (Harleen Sethi), who has a vendetta against Ishaan for ruining her brother, Dr. Dhaval Vasu's, career with his surgical blunders. Teaming up with another doctor and her close friend, Dr. Roy (Vivaan Shah), she sets out on a path of revenge.

As they navigate this journey, they find themselves assisting Dr. Ishaan in various surgeries, facing the harsh reality of not being able to save some patients due to their critical conditions. The series aims to shed light on the lives of physicians, showcasing their dedication and relentless efforts to save lives in the real world.

Dr. Nitya is juggling her duties with critical patients while trying to get her hands on her brother's surgery files, which requires Ishaan's signature. Unbeknownst to her, Ishaan is already aware of her true intentions for being at the Elizabeth Blackwell Medical Centre (EMC). She manages to get his signature, but she still can't access the files completely since she needs Dr. Dhaval's consent letter before the surgery. Things take a turn when Ishaan confronts her, accusing her of tarnishing EMC's reputation by trying to access the file, and he gives her two choices: expulsion or a transfer.

As the story unfolds, Dr. Nitya and Dr. Ishaan find themselves growing closer, navigating their hidden feelings for each other. Although Nitya initially plans to get back at Ishaan, she unexpectedly falls for him, and he feels the same way. Just when they are about to share a kiss, Ishaan pulls back, reminding her that he’s already engaged. This twist feels a bit abrupt and could have benefited from more buildup. Meanwhile, Nitya discovers that Ishaan was the one who saved her brother's life, realizing she had misunderstood the situation due to the tumor's severity. The series also highlights their blossoming romance amidst the hospital chaos.

Dr. Ishaan's fiancée walks in and confronts Nitya, flashing her engagement ring to let her know she's engaged to Ishaan. Despite this, Ishaan and Nitya can't help but dive deeper into their romance, which eventually leads to Lekha discovering their connection. Once she finds out, Lekha and Ishaan decide to part ways. The story shifts from a revenge plot to a romance that sometimes feels a bit disjointed, but the balance is just enough to overlook the inconsistencies.

Before things heat up between them, Ishaan confesses to Nitya that he made a mistake during her brother's surgery, explaining he had no choice if he wanted to save Dhaval's life.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ishaan and his team are hard at work researching Placental Stem Cells Nerve, aiming to save countless lives and repair Dr. Dhaval's injured hand from the surgery. Ishaan hopes this research will allow him to operate on Dhaval again, helping him regain his normal life and ease his guilt.

After some intense discussions, Dhaval finally agrees to undergo another surgery. Just before heading into the operating room, he warns Ishaan that he’ll have a request if he makes it through the operation alive.

Ishaan kicks off the operation with his team, and after a nail-biting moment, he successfully restores Dhaval's right hand. The scene shifts to the terrace of EMC, where Ishaan and Dhaval chat post-surgery. Dhaval tells Ishaan he wants him to let go of Nitya and move on, showing that he’s still upset with Ishaan for messing up his career after that first failed operation.

The series wraps up with Nitya flaunting the engagement ring Ishaan gave her, but Dr. Abhijat Gupta breaks the news that Ishaan is leaving for good. As she rushes to catch him, Ishaan hops into a cab and drives away, leaving Nitya in tears.

On the performance front, Sharad Kelkar as Dr. Ishaan Ahuja showcases his exceptional talent, while Harleen Sethi as Dr. Nitya Vasu brings warmth to the screen. The supporting cast also deserves a shoutout for their genuine and heartfelt performances.

Doctors Verdict

Sharad Kelkar's Doctors mixes emotional moments, romance, and a touch of revenge really well. It dives into the hard work doctors put in for their patients, making it feel pretty realistic. There are a few confusing scenes that you can just breeze past, though. We often talk about doctors, whether it's praise or criticism, but we hardly get a glimpse into their real lives, and this series does a great job of highlighting that.
